FAQ's

1.  How long will my manicure last?

Manicures should last a minimum of 14 days with proper application and quality products. But with that said, your new ability to change it yourself from the comfort of your home and with so many colour options to choose from.....I think you'll be changing them sooner, I know I do.

2. How many manicures are in a jar?

.25oz by weight. Approximately 5-6 manicures depending on nail size and length and number of dips applied.

.50oz by weight. Approximately 10-12 manicures depending on nail size and length and number of dips applied

4. Why is my top coat dull and streaky?

It is essential to make sure you apply a generous amount of Activator to your nail. If using chunky glitters a Needle Point Dropper can be very helpful to make sure you get through all of the layers and avoid contaminating your activator bottle with glitter. After the second coat of activator is applied, let it dry for 1-2 minutes. Before you apply the first layer of Top Coat, wipe the nails down with a lint free wipe and isopropyl alcohol. The first layer of Top Coat should be applied quickly, in 2-3 quick strokes. The second layer of Top Coat can be applied more slowly and carefully. Following these steps will ensure you have a beautiful shiny finish every time.

5. Why are my nails lifting?

Improper prep and or not enough activator.

After prepping cuticles and buffing the surface of the nail make sure to wash with dish soap not regular hand soap as it can have moisturizers in it. Thoroughly dry your hands and nails, any moisture can lead to lifting. Always apply Prep/Bond and let dry before you start dipping, it not only cleans and sanitizes but provides the perfect surface for the base to adhere to. Make sure to let it the prep dry completely before you start dipping or it might cause your base brush to harden.

Activator is what cures the powder and makes it adhere to the nail.  Be sure to apply the Activator on all surfaces and edges of the nail. Using a Needle Point dropper can help get through the layers of thicker dips and prevent contaminating your activator bottle. Getting Activator on the skin is completely safe.

6. Why is the brush on my Base or Top Coat getting hard?

  1. If your Base comes in contact with excess powder it can cause the brush to harden, make sure to use your dust brush to wipe off excess powder before applying another layer of Base and dip.
  2. When applying Prep/Bond prior to applying your first layer of Base and dip or when applying Alcohol prior to your first layer of Top Coat you must ensure that the Prep/Bond or Alcohol is completely dry before moving onto the next step.
  3. The Activator may not have been completely dry before you moved onto the first application of Top Coat. You need to wait longer (1-2 minutes) after the second application of the Activator. Base and Top Coat react with each other to give you the hard finish on your nails, the same thing can happen to your brush if the activator is not completely dry before applying Top Coat.

7. How to fix a hard brush?

Take the brush saver brush out of the bottle and use a lint free wipe to dry off all of the liquid on the brush. You will use this brush to replace the brush in your bottle that has hardened.

Take the hard brush, clean it well with a lint free wipe put it in the brush saver bottle for 15 mins or until brush softens, sometimes you must leave it overnight.  Once softened take the brush out and clean it to remove glue residue. Leave that brush in the brush softener for next time you have a damaged brush.

8. Why is the lid on my Base or Top Coat not opening?

Both of these products are strong adhesives and will glue shut if you get the product on the threads of the bottle. If you get the product on the threads use acetone to clean it up, making sure you don't get it in the bottle. Another trick some people use is putting a small amount of vaseline or cuticle oil on the threads to ensure easy opening, but again if you chose to do this make sure you don't get any in the bottle.

If your bottle gets glued shut. Try putting an elastic band around the handle to get a better grip. Running it under hot water can also help warm up the bottle and loosen the product.
