How to Apply and Remove Nail Dips

Dip Application and Removal Instructions

Dip Powder Application

  1. Prep your nails. Remove, push back any cuticle including invisible. Wipe with alcohol. Optional but recommended, Apply a coat of Prep/Bond to all of your fingers and let dry.
  2. Apply a thin layer of Dip Base on one finger and dip, lay or pour over the powder (For glitter pour over on the first layer is best and then lay into the glitter for the second layer) Tap excess into jar. Use the Precision tool, a dotting tool or an orange stick to go around the cuticles to remove any excess. Once dry use a brush to remove any excess powder on the nail. Repeat on all fingers. Apply 2-5 layers on each finger depending on the colour and thickness you desire. If using glitter it is recommended to encapsulate in clear dip powder or clear builder gel to get a smooth finish. If using builder gel make sure to activate first.
  1. Apply a generous amount of Activator to all nails with your brushes bottle of our handy needle point dropper, wait two minutes.
  2. Once the powder has hardened file and buff until you have a smooth finish and the shape you want.
  3. Apply a second coat of Activator and wait two minutes, wipe with a dry lint free wipe or isopropyl alcohol lint free wipe
  4. For your first coat of dip top coat apply it in 2-3 quick brush strokes. Wait 60 seconds and go in with a second more detailed coat. Do not over brush this could cause a dull streaky finish.
  5. Let dry for 2 minutes, wash hands once dry and apply your favorite cuticle oil.

Encapsulating Glitter & Nail Art: Use  clear dip powder as your final layer of dip to encapsulate the glitter. This is especially recommended for chunkier glitter and thicker nail art

Dip Powder Removal

  1. Fileoff the top shiny layer of your dipped nails. An e-file works really well for getting extra layers of dip off but is not necessary.
  2. Soak the nails in 100% acetone.
  3. Rub the nails against a lint free wipe or paper towel to remove softened dip while soaking.  Give stubborn dip extra help by filing off softened layers as you go. Glitters need a bit of extra help.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 until the dip powder is soaked off completely.

QUICK REMOVAL: Place acetone in a leak proof baggie lined with paper towel or a used dryer sheet and rest the bag in warm water or rice while soaking.  Soak about 10 minutes.

Best Application Practices: Room Should Be Well-Ventilated, Use of a mask, dust collector and/or fan is not required but is recommended

    Pro Tips:

If soaking off with Acetone isn't your thing there's good news for you!

Apply two layers of clear dip or a builder gel before applying your colours/glitters of choice. When it comes time for removal you can use an efile to file off the colour/glitter layers then buff the clear or builder gel till its smooth, make sure to remover any loose or lifting bits. Getting used to the efile can take some practice and patience but its worth it.

Or apply Peel Base on top of your Clear dip or builder gel and you'll be able to pop off your dip or gel mani.
